Supported Virtual Environments
- VMware (vSphere Hypervisor) ESX/ESXi
- Microsoft Hyper-V
Note: Must be running on Virtual aware hardware. The minimum recommended hardware (above) is a minimum requirement for each virtual environment running VersaLex. Under heavy load, Cleo has seen up to 25% less throughput in a virtual environment compared to a similarly configured native environment.
Java Runtime Environment
Support for Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.5 has been sunsetted with the release of VersaLex 4.3. Customers can continue to run with their current version of LexiCom/VLTrader/VLProxy and JRE 1.5 after this time, but will be required to upgrade to JRE 1.6 as part of any Cleo support request. Cleo bundles the JRE in its installer and product, so upgrading the VersaLex JRE will not affect other products installed on the same computer.

Requirements
Other Requirements
- Must have a persistent connection to the Internet
- Must have a static external IP address associated with it (directly on the computer or via NAT)
- If the computer is behind a firewall, appropriate IP addresses and ports must be open based on VLProxy configuration and trading partners to allow the necessary traffic to be transmitted to and from your trading partners
- The computer running VersaLex must have a static IP address.
- To ensure optimal performance, VLProxy should be run on a dedicated computer (e.g. VLProxy should not be run on the same computer as a Web Server)
For Windows XP/2003/7/2008 R2:
VLProxy must be installed as a Windows Service
